The short version. Your day is stored on your device. There is no sign-up wall, no advertising, and no analytics that identify you. The only thing that ever leaves your phone is the sentence you speak or type, sent to be turned into a plan. Signing in is optional, and even then nothing about your day is uploaded.

What stays on your device

Your tasks, appointments, reminders, settings, streak, and completion history are stored in the app's own storage on your phone. They are not uploaded, backed up to us, or shared. Deleting the app deletes them.

What leaves your device, and when

Nothing else is transmitted. Sayshort does not send your task list, your calendar, your location, or your contacts anywhere.

Signing in

Sayshort works completely without an account, and never asks for one before you can use it. During setup you are offered Sign in with Apple or Google once; declining it changes nothing about how the app works.

If you do sign in, Sayshort receives your name and email address from Apple or Google and stores them on your device, so the app can greet you and so there is a stable identity to attach your data to if syncing between devices is ever added. No password is involved, and there is no account server: that record is never sent anywhere, and none of your tasks are uploaded or associated with it off the phone. Deleting the app removes it along with everything else.

Your calendar

If you grant calendar access, Sayshort reads today's events so it can plan around commitments you have already made. It is read-only: Sayshort never creates, edits, or deletes calendar events. Event details are used on your device and are not transmitted.

Your microphone

The microphone is used only while you are actively capturing, and only after you tap to start. Sayshort does not listen in the background. Typing is a full peer to speaking — the app works completely without ever granting microphone access.

Notifications

Notifications are scheduled locally on your device. There is no push server, so no notification content ever passes through us.

Analytics

Sayshort records anonymous product events — for example, that a task was completed — with no name, email, device identifier, or advertising ID attached. There is no third-party analytics SDK, no advertising network, and no cross-app tracking. Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers.

Children

Sayshort is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top will change and the app will say so before the change takes effect.
